Her's another all girl band, not quiet so exotic as the previous one. But really cool regardless. At first I thought they were English, don't ask why. But turns out close, they are Canadian.
Katie and the Lichen is a sweet indie ensemble from Vancouver, Canada. They describe themselves on their website as “a 5 piece pop-verisimilitudes/sister/pop-verite, all female band. Playing ukes, andmelodicas, guitars and drums, and more, they focus on the anti-pop-anti-folk aspects of the lo-fi music universe, this includes crunching class divisions and endorsing and eating feminism. They are unladylike. They are encouragable, endearing and effing adorable.”When Calvin Johnson was asked "What’s your opinion of Katie and the Lichen?" he replied:
Katie & the Lichen are the fun boss rad feminist pop super-car vibe queens of cave-rock!First up a couple of clips from a gig on Friday 13th May 2011 @ The Prophouse.
Next up a screamin' appearance at Book Zoo in Oakland, CA on November 17 2011.

OK, so this really is the last one today for Katie and The Lichen, since the previous video for Quarrels was a bit unfocused while it still captured their raw sound and as such was worth including i figured to give you the definitive version of a cool song. So here's their original video for that tune.
